Revel Acts during the Israel Celebrations of the so-called Independence Day

By: Madeeha Araj,

The National Bureau for Defending Land and Resisting Settlements said in his latest weekly report , that Israeli settlers intend to accelerate their violations during the upcoming celebrations of the so-called Israeli Independence Day that coincide with the 71st anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba i.e. the displacement of the Palestinian people from their homeland. Such violations were not limited to settler robberies, but also to official levels, where the Israeli occupation government, PM, Netanyahu, carried out Talmudic prayers in the courtyard of the Al-Buraq Wall “the Western Wall, amid intensive security measures, which encourages settlers become more extreme and violent.

At the same time, 137 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque at the end of the week from the Moroccan Gate, guarded by special units of the Israeli police, they carried out provocative tours in the Al-Aqsa Mosque before leaving the Chain Gate. Knowing that a number of Palestinian citizens were there. For its part, the alleged groups of the Temple, called on its supporters and the settler public to extensively participate in the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque today coinciding with the celebrations of the occupation anniversary of the establishment of its entity at the expense of our people and their land.

In Jerusalem, Israeli settlers carried out acts of provocation, raised the flags of the occupying state, confronted with our people, and shouted racist slogans against Arabs. The Israeli occupation forces intervened alongside the settlers and arrested a number of Palestinian youths, took them to the detention center in the Old City of Hebron. Moreover, they stormed the area of the Solomon’s Pools tourist area located between the village of Artas and the town of Al-Khader, south of Bethlehem, they carried out Talmudic rituals.

In Hebron, the family of Imad Abu Shamsia was beaten at gunpoint. This is not the first attack on the Abu Shamsia family, which has long been targeted by Israeli soldiers and settlers. The family documents settler attacks in the Tel-Rumeida neighborhood. It is known that the Abu Shamsia family had documented the filming of the execution of the martyr, Abdul Fatah Sharif and Ramzi Qasrawi in the area.

On the other hand, the Israeli parties are racing to draft laws that will lead to the annexation of the West Bank. On the eve of the current Knesset, MK, Beiteinu intends to present 2 postponed laws from the previous Knesset: they are, imposing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank without specifying the areas, and the so-called Israeli Supreme Court, which means reducing the role of the Court and other courts in cancelling laws enacted by the previous Knesset.

For its part, the Maariv newspaper quoted Israeli political sources close to Netanyahu as saying that the Israeli PM decided to evacuate the Khan Ahma, but he may have to postpone his plan as a result of the delay of the announcement of the new government. A decision that indicates the racist nature and reveals that the Israeli judiciary is an integral part of the occupation system and provides the legal cover for the settlers and the occupation soldiers, moreover, it is expected to release the terrorist settler accused of killing Palestinian woman Aisha Rabi and turning him into house arrest under the pretext of not having sufficient evidences.

Within the context of the continuation of the occupation authorities to seize more land of Palestinian citizens throughout the West Bank for the purpose of the construction of new settlement roads, a decision was taken by the occupation authorities to confiscate new lands close to the settlement of “Beit Ariyeh” adjacent to the village of Luban Gharbeieh west of Ramallah in preparation for the construction of a new settlement road to link settlements in the area. The settlement road comes a week after a similar decision was approved by the Israeli Civil Administration’s licensing committee to create 2 bypass roads that will confiscate hundreds of dunums of agricultural land belonging to Palestinian citizens, especially in areas C.

In line with the US administration, PM Netanyahu announced that he will lay the foundation stone for the construction of a new settlement in the name of US President Trump in the occupied Syrian Arab Golan, beginning middle of the next month. The new settlement, which will be officially declared as the cornerstone of the settlement, will be occupied by 12 Israeli families in the first stage. The settlement will be built near the settlement of “Kela Alon” north of the Golan. Since the occupation of the Golan, Israel has established 29 settlements between 1967 and 1977, and 24 other settlements have been established within 42 years.

While US Middle East peace envoy, Jason Greenblatt accused the UN Security Council of not being neutral about Israel during its meeting, which was held recently at an invitation by Indonesia, the Security Council, South Africa and Kuwait. 14 member states denounced the Israeli settlement activity on the occupied Palestinian territory and stressed the illegality of the settlements and called on Israel to stop settlement expansion as it devastates any opportunity for peace.

On the other hand, 3 international companies (Bombardier of Canada, Macquarie of Australia and Siemens of Germany) operating in the rail sector withdrew from a tender for the Israeli light rail system linking the settlements with each other and Jerusalem after they realized that the project is a tool for settlement and annexing Jerusalem, in complete violation of international law. For its part, the National Bureau considered such step as important and formed a rejection of the crime of settlement, calling on other companies dealing with settlements to cut their ties with such projects, considering that the settlements are a war crime under the international law.
